MSRC Tech Fee Proposal 2026-2027

The Math & Science Resource Center (MSRC) at John Jay College provides critical academic support to undergraduate students enrolled in Math, Science, and Computer Science courses through individual and group tutoring, workshops, exam reviews, and hybrid/virtual academic programming. The MSRC serves approximately 800–1,500 students per semester, facilitating 1,200–1,800 tutoring sessions and nearly 200 workshops each term. In the previous Technology Fee funding cycle, the MSRC was approved for laptop purchases; however, due to rising equipment costs, the funds were sufficient to purchase only four (4) laptops instead of the originally requested eight. As a result, ongoing technology gaps remain. This proposal seeks funding to complete the original laptop request and to restore functionality to existing printing equipment that has been unusable for nearly two years due to the lack of funding for required consumable
