The Student Government Association (SGA) seeks to acquire 50 new 10th-generation iPads and a multifunction printer system equipped with color printing, scanning, and faxing capabilities. This project aims to improve efficiency, accessibility, and workflow within the SGA by providing essential technology resources to student leaders. Our existing printer, which is crucial for printing requisition and budgetary documents for payments, has recently reached the end of its life cycle. Every other office on campus is equipped with a functioning printer, making this replacement a necessity for our daily operations.
In addition, SGA consists of 47 student members who voluntarily contribute to enhancing the campus experience. However, many of these students lack personal devices and must rely on public campus computers, often spending long hours in lounges to complete assignments and fulfill their duties. Providing iPads will alleviate this burden, facilitating more efficient work in areas such as marketing, outreach, and administrative responsibilities.
The proposed resources will primarily benefit members of the Student Government Association, ensuring they have the necessary tools to perform their roles effectively. Additionally, the printers will be accessible to SGA staff for essential documentation and financial processing.
The new printer system will be housed in the Student Government Office. The iPads will be distributed among SGA members under a structured loan system
Increased Efficiency: The printer will support the seamless processing of requisition and budgetary documents, reducing delays in financial transactions.
Enhanced Student Access to Technology: iPads will be assigned to SGA members, ensuring they can perform their duties without technological limitations.
Streamlined Work Processes: Students will have greater flexibility in managing SGA responsibilities, such as planning events, conducting outreach, and designing marketing materials.
Campus IT services will maintain the printer, ensuring long-term functionality. The iPads will be issued through a structured loan program similar to the campus computer loan program.
The Executive Specialist of SGA will oversee the daily operations of the new equipment, ensuring proper distribution, maintenance, and collection
This proposal aligns with the college’s 2025 Strategic Plan by promoting technological accessibility and student success. It directly supports goals related to:
? Enhancing Student Engagement: Providing iPads allows student leaders to be more active in their roles, contributing to a vibrant campus community.
? Improving Campus Resources: Replacing an outdated and essential printer ensures smoother administrative processes.
? Equity in Technology Access: Ensuring all student government members have access to necessary tools fosters an inclusive leadership environment.
By implementing this proposal, the Student Government Association will be better equipped to serve the campus community effectively and enhance student leadership experiences
