The purpose of this project is to provide Dispute Resolution students with a user-friendly scanner in the Dispute Resolution Lab so that they can readily create electronic copies of their role plays, exercises, and materials for their Dispute Resolution courses. Our students are routinely asked to prepare dispute resolution resources that are then distributed electronically. A readily available scanner would reduce the carbon footprint and related expenses of photocopying and then scanning using photocopiers.
The scanner will be accessible to all John Jay College students who use the Dispute Resolution Lab, Room 520.13 Haaren Hall.
The scanner would be situated in the Dispute Resolution Lab, Room 520.13 Haaren Hall which is located in the Sociology Department.
Having a scanner readily available in the Dispute Resolution Lab would reduce the carbon footprint and related expenses of photocopying including ink, paper, and energy associated with photocopying machines. Moreover, the proposed scanner is designed to digitize all materials that are awkward to scan on existing photocopiers, especially books, journals, and magazines.
Dispute Resolution faculty and Sociology Department administrative staff would oversee the day-to-day operation of equipment.

This proposal address Goals 1 and 4. Goal 1 aims to support our undergraduates to succeed in preparing materials for their Dispute Resolution courses. A user-friendly scanner that assists students in preparing their materials for their dispute resolution courses and achieve success would be immensely beneficial in helping the college achieve Goal 1. The scanner would also play a role in achieving Goal 4 by reducing the carbon footprint, saving energy and money, including paper and ink.
