PRE-LAW PROGRAM APPLICATION

Public Interest Clinic

Description

The Pre-Law Institute (PLI) and the Department of Political Science partner with multiple government legal agencies across New York City to provide an invaluable clinical experience for some of John Jay College's brightest undergraduates. Students will intern one day per week, working side by side with attorneys responsible for some of the City's regulatory functions. Placement may include: Taxi and Limousine Commission Prosecution Division, Law Department, and the US Attorney's Office, Southern District, Civil Division. Students will develop practical skills and insights that will contribute to their personal, professional, and academic development. Moreover, the course will be taught by an attorney who has served the City of New York for over twenty years in various capacities. The professor will serve as a Professional in Residence and the instructor for the semester.
