Bronx DA College Clerkship

Bronx DA College Clerkship Details

Description

The Pre-Law Institute (PLI) and the Department of Political Science partners with the Office of the Bronx District Attorney to provide an invaluable clerkship experience for some of John Jay College’s brightest undergraduates. Students will intern one day per week at the Bronx DA; some examples of Bronx DA placements include working within the General Counsel, Strategic Enforcement, or Special Victims Divisions. Students will develop practical skills and insights that will contribute to their personal, professional, and academic development. Moreover, the course will be taught by an attorney from the Bronx DA, who will serve as a Professional in Residence and the instructor for the semester. Through this rare opportunity to learn from and be mentored by Bronx DA lawyers and staff, students will gain hands-on and practical experience, develop and revise professional materials for future opportunities, and critically examine the theories and practices of modern prosecution.
